Simson L. Garfinkel is a computer scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. His research interests include digital forensics; digital artifact management, with special attention to the curation of "born digital" artifacts; privacy; the use of human subjects in computer security research;  usable security, and terrorism.  ([[Bio|Read full bio.]])  
Simson L. Garfinkel serves on the Association for Computing Machinery's U.S. Technology and Policy Committee, and on its Ethics and Plagiarism Committee. He is also a science journalist who has published hundreds of articles in newspapers and magazines, and 17 books.
