He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), holds a PhD in Computer Science from MIT, and teaches as a part-time faculty member at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
