Decision making made easier

by Dan Ruby

Palo Alto, CA Ð Spreadsheets are great for ad hoc decision making, but full-scale information systems require a more robust modeling system. WhiteLight Systems fills that need in the NeXTSTEP market with a sophisticated program for building decision-support, management-information, and executive-information systems.

WhiteLight/Engineer is used to build n-dimensional information structures that are immediately deployable as production systems for such applications as financial consolidation and reporting, business planning and budgeting, and financial analysis.

Shipping since March for '040 systems, WhiteLight/Engineer 1.5 for Intel systems was due to ship in mid-May. Depending on the number of licenses at a site, the program is priced at $500 to $5000 per seat. Versions of the software for system architects, analysts, auditors, and administrators will follow at a later date.
