MindShare provides a fix for information junkies

Annandale, VA Ð Pangea Corporation's MindShare, an environment for sharing information within workgroups, was scheduled to be shown for the first time at NeXTWORLD Expo.

According to Pangea cofounder Scott Moyer, MindShare, which will ship in July for $695, was designed to facilitate the formation of discussion groups within an organization. Discussion groups are similar to the news groups found on the Internet but can be set up on the fly, with access limited to members of a team.

"We realized that the most im-portant thing about groupware is that it has to be easy to use and incorporate into your organization. Otherwise, people won't use it," said Moyer.

Groupware applications such as Lotus Notes are expensive to employ in an organization, due to the cost of consultants, training, and administration. While most NeXT sites already employ NeXT-mail, Moyer believes MindShare can fill the void for true groupware applications on the NeXT.

"With Mail, everything goes into a single mailbox, you can't sort messages by priority, and you have to deal with every message that comes in."
