London Ð NeXT Europe announced in December reseller and porting agreements with Dolphin Server Technology AS of Oslo, Norway. To be completed in the first quarter, the port adds to a growing list of NeXT client-server solutions from companies that include Auspex Systems, Data General, NCR/Teradata, Pyramid Technology, and Solbourne Computer.

"We see the future of corporate computing with user-friendly platforms taking full advantage of multimedia, global access to data, and fast development of advanced client-server solutions," said Terje Knudsen, Dolphin's vice-president of sales and marketing. "We already have a couple of large customers very interested in our NeXT solution."

Dolphin was founded in 1989 by several members of the research-and-development team at Norsk Data and manufactures several models of RISC-based UNIX multiprocessor servers. It specializes in solutions for the government and banking markets.

In addition, Dolphin will be an authorized reseller of NeXT machines and license NetInfo source code.
