2013 Picture Show

Happy New Years' Day, 2013!

Sonia was elected to the national board of Young Judaea, a Zionist Youth Movement. This is from her campaign commercial.

Beth and the boys went to a comic convention.

Simson and Beth attended their first formal ball with the Virginia Democratic Party.

Beth continued working on her book about the Quabbin, making several trips to the Pioneer Valley for research.

And we could watch her every step of her trip on our iPhones...

Beth at the Quabbin.

Jared and Draken worked many hours on a science project that measured how fast ice melts and water boils. Not as much fun as watching paint dry, but close.

Simson visited Google Europe in Zürich.

While in Zürich, Simson bought a massive Toblerone chocolate bar. Surprisingly, we have finished it by now.

Sonia continued looking at colleges. Here she is in New York City on the Broadway subway.

Mt. Holyoke has a "gripe board" in the student center.

Jared learned how to cook pancakes.

Sonia was a "hot box girl" in Guys & Dolls. (see lower right)

The family visited the "one million bones" exhibit on the National Mall.

Sonia got her learner's permit!

Draken is now taller than his mother. Now he is even taller...

Jared and Draken visited "Clouds," an installation by Andy Warhaul.

While Simson visited Steptoe & Johnson.

Our dear cat Marley was found dead after being missing for a week. This is from his WANTED poster.

Sonia participated in the "October Dress Project," where she wore the same dress every day for a month. Here we are on Day 30.

On October 31st Sonia finished the Dress Project and instead went to school as a Number Lion.

Isis, our new kitten.

Jared and Draken (and Simson) went to Baltimore, where they visited the Aquarium, the Baltimore Science Museum, and the National Electronics Museum.

Our young scientists at the Baltimore Science Center.

Simson is reviewing Google Glass. Here Sonia practices being a cyborg.

Luckily Glass comes with disclaimers...

Wishing you and yours a safe and happy 2014. (For some reason, the FBI was giving out these candles made from jellied gasoline at a recruiting event. We can't figure it out either.)
