2011 started early for Simson and Sonia, who greeted the New Year while on vacation in Japan. with Simson and Sonia in Japan Simson and Sonia spent Winter Break 2011-2j

One of the department stores in Japan had this conceptual art project made from spraypainted monitors, keyboards and old magnetic media systems.

2011 also marked three major real estate transactions for the Garfinkel-Rosenberg family. We sold our house in Belmont MA and bought a townhouse in Arlington VA. Separately Simson's father sold his house in Narberth, PA, so we got all of his old furnature that we could fit.

We completed this terribly hard periodic table of the elements jigsaw puzzle. MIT here we come...

Sonia sang in the Virginai District 12 (don't laugh!) honors choir. She's front row, second from left.

Jared and Simson traveled to New York City, where there just happened to be an art show at MoMA that Jared was studying

Simson took the boys to Colonial Williamsburg over spring break. It was so cool that just the adults came back over the summer.

We moved .75 miles away from our old place May 22. Here Sonia gets ready for school in the midst of chaos.

Simson took the boys with him to his 25th MIT Reunion. In the Liberty Hotel, which used to be a Boston prison.

As part of their end-of-year project, the 5th grade had to create and perform John Cage-inspired "sound suits".

And when she became a counselor-in-training at Camp Sprout Lake (where the boys are campers), she was a leader for the Green Team.

It was great having all three children in the same place at the same time for nearly four weeks.

Going back to school (Sonia in 11th grade, the boys in 6th) was an exhausting change.

The Aquarium at New Orleans has not a single mention of the BP oil spill. Nor there is a mention of climate change or the impact of global warming on sea life. We were surprised, but we finally found out why.
