Posted by holtzman at May 2, 2004 09:04 AMhi there, just want to ask. can RFID tag be read under a metal? supposed that we carry something with RFID tag inside a car, can the reader outside the car read the RFID tag?
regards - borderline.
Posted by: borderline at May 11, 2004 02:36 AMPractically no but theoritically yes.
Lot of depends on the type of reader and tags used.
Since Car is not totally metallic ( Gauss environment - Physics terminology for static elctric covered evironment) , it's possible to read tags in a car by a powerful reader.
