The dangers of this technology far outweigh the benefits. It seems that any benefit to manufacturers is considered of more importance than detriments to the public are. Tracking inventory is important, but not as important is protecting the public from invasion of privacy. In many cases people will not know an item has such a tag in it, and would be ignorant of the fact that their activities or persons are being tracked. This is unconcionable. People should not be 'tracked' in any way, as the result of buying something.

Considering the dangers of RFID tecnology to outweigh the benefits misses the point. RFID is here and will revolutionise several verticals. There is alot of unfounded misapprehension about the technology leading people to speculate on pirvacy issues, which indicates that the proponents of the technology need to inform public better of the privacy issues.
