Dining RoomWalk through the door in the kitchen and you'll end up in our dining room, shown here. There is a big plug in the middle of the room is for a wood burning stove. You'll also find this plug in the little office, as well as in our master bedroom. We are not really sure what to do with them; we probably aren't going to put in wood burning stoves, but it seems wrong to cover them up. The plaster in the dining room is in pretty good. It's horsehair plaster (yes, there is real horsehair inside it), so when it dies, we have got to replace the walls. Beneath the plaster is our wainscoting. It's beautiful, but it is not in very good shape, becuase the previous occupants pushed a lot of pins into the wood. We'll try to fill them with putty and see what happens. If you look through the door on the left, you'll see a beautiful floor that is in the front little office. The dining room's floor isn't in as good shape. It looks like there was a rug on the floor, and the rug has made a big stain. Hence the carpet. One day we will sand down this floor as well. The door on the right leads to the central hallway, and then through another door, to our front living room.
